In previous years, we have supported a wonderful direct charity effort in India. Every penny we give goes direct to helping poor local people improve their lives. Last year, Fixation contributed to a project targeting the remote villages of Orissa province, which raised £20,000 to distribute 10,000 Mosquito Nets to 46 remote tribal villages in the region, in order to reduce the effect of a particularly virulent form of malaria. This year, with another step forward, they are planning to distribute Solar Lights to those who are still without electricity and currently need to use kerosene lamps at night. Most villages are so far from a local market where they can buy kerosene, there is no transport available and they have to travel at least 10km by foot each way to market. The solar lamps will help them save money and energy.

 

So now, once again, we are going to put our efforts into bringing the light and brightness of Christmas to those people, so please understand why we send you an impersonal greeting and contribute to this great cause instead!
