Nikon have announced an upgrade to their flagship DX format DSLR, the D300S.
The improvements over the D300 include HD movie capability WITH autofocus and external stereo sound input. Movies can be edited in-camera. The framing rate has been increased to 7fps, there are now dual memory slots for CF and SD media, and the MBD10 Grip and battery systems are unchanged.
With an SRP of £1499.99 including VAT, this camera is bound to have even broader appeal than its predecessor. Its perfect partner, the AFS18-200mm f3.5-5.6 VR lens has also had a makeover! The improved VR mechanism offers 4 stop equivalent improvement in shutter speed, but the best bit is the NEW Zoom Lock Switch. This was always an incredibly sharp lens, offering fantastic versatility and great value. Its selling price will be around £729. Both items are available from late August.
