Nikon Announce RAM Upgrade for D3

Nikon have announced an optional RAM upgrade for the D3, available from end of July 2008.                  
 
We understand the cost to be £352, plus shipping charges to and from Nikon.  This upgrade is expected to  appeal mainly to Sports photographers shooting raw NEF files, and will allow extended continuous shooting of fast action shots.
 
At present, this upgrade IS NOT being carried out by Fixation, and customers must submit their D3 to Nikon UK’s Service Centre at Kingston-upon-Thames only. Turnaround time for the work is estimated at ten days, subject to demand and availability of the RAM upgrade part.  We recommend customers telephone the Nikon Professional Support line on 0800 652 9580 to check current turnaround time.
