We would like to make our customers aware that Canon have identified a number of potential service issues with Eos1DmkIII and Eos1DSmkIII concerning autofocus performance, and ERROR 99 codes. You can read more information at www.canon.co.uk/support by following the links to Consumer Products/Digital SLR and then the FAQs for the appropriate body.
If you have at any time experienced an ERR 99 code, or had any issues with AF accuracy, your camera will need to be booked in with Fixation or Canon to have remedial modification work done. We regret that Fixation are unable to carry out the modification work associated with autofocus issues in AI Servo mode, and cameras with this issue will need to be booked into Canon’s service centre at Elstree by registering through the Canon URL above.
Part of the remedial work includes loading new firmware versions, and customers may download this themselves from the Canon site. The latest versions are;-
For Eos1DmkIII v1.2.5
For Eos1DSmkIII v1.1.4
There is also a useful link through the FAQs for Eos1DmkIII to a detailed manual to help users get the best out of the AI Servo mode. Click here to go straight to the manual.
