On August 26, Canon announced the Eos50D, an exciting new addition to their Digital SLR range.          Of interest to high-end enthusiast and Professional photographers alike, with 15.1 megapixels and  6fps on a 1.5x small sensor, and reportedly excellent high-ISO low-noise performance, this model will provide professional performance and results at a reasonable price.  With an initial SRP of £1199, first deliveries are expected later this month.

 

On August 27, Nikon announced the D90, the first mid-range Digital SLR to offer a Movie function.  This innovative feature, coupled with many features from the D300, including 12.3 megapixels and 4fps, will make the D90 appeal to many different market sectors, as well as the enthusiast wanting to move to the next level of creativity in their photography.  With an SRP of only £699, initial shipments are expected during September.
