Leica SL now available for rental

We are pleased to announce that the Leica SL is now available for rental

leica-sl_1Leica’s first professional camera to feature an electronic viewfinder launched to favourable reviews in late 2015 and has been well received by video and stills photographers alike. Featuring a 24MP full frame CMOS sensor, the SL is capable of shooting 4K video at 24fps and continuous stills at up to 11fps.

Being a mirrorless design, the SL’s lens mount allows you to use just about every other Leica lens via an adapter, while third party adapters offer compatibility with Canon and Nikon mount lenses too.

The SL’s EVF boasts a staggering 4.4 million pixels, giving a crisp bright image in even the gloomiest conditions and videographers will appreciate the focus peaking and zebra stripe options. The refresh rate is extremely high with no visible lag and the battery life is excellent thanks to the smart switching between the rear LCD display and the EVF; as simple as putting your eye up to the viewfinder.

The body is milled from a single piece of aluminium and offers a rugged, ergonomic grip. The weather seals around the lens mount and ports make it virtually impossible for dust and moisture to affect the camera.

The menu is a clean and simple design, with all settings easily available. A ‘Favourites’ menu will store your often-accessed settings and you can also program the two function buttons on the rear of the camera to perform specific tasks. The touchscreen LCD completes the interface and allows quick browsing through images and menu access.

leica-sl_3Storage on the camera is handled by twin SD card slots, with the primary slot being UHS II compatible. There are a number of options available when it comes to saving images or video; both cards can write simultaneously or the faster slot can store RAW images while the standard slot takes care of JPEGs.

All in all the Leica SL represents a professional class camera that is equally at ease handling high quality video and still images, and with the unparalleled reputation of Leica lenses, you can be sure of consistently excellent results.
