Workshop | Lens repair

In our latest workshop repair video we show you what’s involved in replacing the lead ring on a Nikkor 14-24mm ƒ/2.8G AF-S.

The lead ring is the barrel at the front of the lens which houses the front group of elements and allows them to move smoothly when zooming.

The video shows the disassembly of the lens, fitting the replacement ring and re-assembly. Following this, the lens would have been cleaned, checked and calibrated before being signed off as completed.
