How to send in your camera gear for repair

Important notice for customers outside the UK: We are currently unable to despatch items overseas, or repair goods shipped from outside the UK. Please do not send repairs to Fixation from other countries while this notice is in place. Completed repairs must be delivered to a mainland UK address or collected from Fixation in London or Fixation in Manchester.

Our repair workshop is trusted by photographers throughout the UK. Many of our repairs arrive by post from customers who cannot bring their kit to us in person. We return repairs via a tracked next working day service.

We have 13 drop off points across the UK, these include our London repair centre, Manchester service counters, or any of the Wex Photo Video stores located across the UK. If you don’t live near any of our drop off points you can post repairs to us. You can choose our door-to-door courier collection, or we can send you a label to drop off at your local royal mail Post Office or UPS access point.

Packing your photographic equipment carefully is important to make sure it arrives safely with us. If you drop off at Fixation in Manchester, or a Wex branch, we take care of the shipping and packaging for you. If you are arranging delivery yourself, or have booked a collection from us, then we have provided instructions on packaging below.

Fixation is a professional repair specialist for Canon, Nikon and Sony camera repairs, and Tamron & Sigma lens repair, so we have the tools, training and spare parts to keep your equipment in tip-top working order.

We also provide a 6 months guarantee on work carried out and parts used.

Repairs by Post, how does it work?

Your local store can book your camera gear in for repair at any time and drake care of shipping. Or you can use our online team. Simply fill in the repair form and we’ll get in touch to provide you with the details for sending your camera gear to us.

Step 1 – Find out if we repair your model by using our Repair Form.

Step 2 – on the form use our camera postal repair service by selecting a carrier, either parcelforce or UPS, shipping option, where we can either send you a free label to drop off at your local Post Office or UPS access point or alternatively we can arrange for a free door-to-door collection by UPS or Parcelforce.

Step 3 – Pack your kit carefully for collection or dispatch. In a strong box, with plenty of padding.

Step 4 – Our engineer will inspect your camera gear and contact you either by email or calling you if any additional parts are needed to complete the repair. Subject to your approval, and parts availability, the repair should take no longer than a working week.

Step 5 – Upon completion of the work we will contact you to arrange payment and then return your gear.

Packing repairs for sending via post

When sending repairs by post it is important to make sure all items are packed carefully to avoid damage in transit. We recommend padding each item individually, eg removing lenses from cameras, and packing at least two inches of bubble wrap around each item.

These bubble wrapped units, lenses cameras or flash, should be placed in a strong cardboard box, we suggest a double-walled corrugated cardboard box, with all the extra space filled with packing chips or extra bubble wrap so that items cannot move around within the sealed box.

Don’t forget to pack a copy of your repair form in with your items so we know who the kit belongs to when we unwrap the parcel.

Tape up the box securely with parcel tape sealing up all the seams on the box.
