Canon EOS R8 Key Features
Full-frame sensor: The Canon EOS R8 boasts a 24.2 megapixel full frame imaging sensor, the same sensor technology seen in the EOS R6 Mark II with phase detect pixels for autofocus on the imaging sensor, sensitive to -6.5 EV. The sensor can capture photos up to ISO 102,400.
Electronic shutter by default: The EOS R8 does not have a manual first curtain to the shutter, the exposure starts with an electronic first curtain and is closed by a mechanical 2nd curtain up to 6fps or in complete electronic shutter mode for exposures up to a blistering 40fps burst rate and completely silent operation.
Compact and Lightweight: at only 461g the EOS R8 is a very light and compact camera body, easy to pack and carry for holidays and events ensuring you always have a high quality camera in reach for any moment. The EOS R8 uses LP-17 batteries which are small and light lithium rechargeable batteries.
Connectivity: 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in to share images quickly direct to a phone. The Canon EOS R8 has a single UHS II SD card slot.
Video features: The Canon R8 is a hybrid body with features dedicated to video as well as photography. A dedicated switch on the top of the camera switches between stills and video features and the ports inclide a mic input and headphone output jack along with an HDMI out for external recording. The hot-shoe is the new digital shoe seen on the Canon EOS R5C whhich offers connections to an additional Microphone or canon Tascam audio unit with XLR ports for full professional audio inputs.
